Yes, we do require a deposit. All deposits start at $395.00, however, the deposit can be lowered based on if you are purchasing or renting property:

If you purchased the property, there are 3 different options to lower your deposit to $95.00.

  • We can do a credit check in our office.
  • If you have an electric service somewhere else, in your name for at least 1 year with a perfect payment history, they can send us a letter of credit.
  • If you know someone that has had service from Upson EMC for at least 1 year with a perfect payment history, they can sign with you as a Guarantor. (They will have to come into our office and sign your application.)

If you rented the property, there is 1 option to lower your deposit to $95.00.

Bills are due on the 12th of each month. Anything after the 12th will have a late fee (no grace period). The account is subject for disconnection if payments are not received by the 18th.

In-office payment options are limited to cash, check, and money order. You can pay with a card by visiting the online payment portal.

Yes, but only if your insurance card can be used as a debit or credit card.

Yes, the online billing portal has a “Quick Pay” option. Visit the Payment portal at the button below and select the “quick pay” option in the top right. You will need your account number and a phone number associated with the account.

You can print and fill out our bank draft form below, and bring it to the office to finish setting it up.

You can report a service outage by contacting our office, or by downloading our mobile app and selecting the “Report an Outage” option.
